About Lesson
Lesson: Framing
Brief Summary: Using your limbs to create structure and distance under pressure.
Extended Summary:
Framing uses your arms, legs, and elbows as structural barriers to control space, stop pressure, and set up escapes or transitions. Unlike grips, which hold, frames push. You might frame with your forearms against an opponent’s hips to prevent mount, or with your shins and knees to retain guard. Good framing keeps you safe while buying time to reposition or escape. It’s especially useful for smaller grapplers or anyone facing heavy top pressure.
