About Lesson

Lesson: Mount

Brief Summary: A dominant top position offering strong control and high submission potential.

Extended Summary:
The mount is one of the most dominant positions in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. From mount, you’re sitting on your opponent’s torso with your knees pinched and feet hooked or hidden, giving you control over their movement and access to submissions like armbars, collar chokes, and mounted triangles. Stability is key: maintaining a low center of gravity, grapevining the legs (if desired), and using your arms to base when your opponent bridges. The mount also teaches pressure management, base retention, and transitions to more aggressive positions like S-mount.
