About Lesson
Back Escape (Hand Fighting + Bridge)
Brief Summary: A fundamental escape from back control using grip breaks and hip movement.
Extended Summary:
Escaping back control starts with managing the threat of chokes by controlling your opponent’s grips. Hand fighting is the first priority — you must peel off the choking arm (the one across your neck) while protecting your neck. Once the grip is broken, you bridge and turn toward the choking arm to flatten your opponent out and begin turning into them. From there, you may transition to guard, turtle, or even top position. This escape teaches vital defense skills and awareness of positional control.
