About Lesson

Extended Summary:
The hip bump sweep is a fundamental technique executed from closed guard that uses explosive hip movement to off-balance your opponent. It works well when the opponent tries to posture or posts hands on the mat. You establish a grip (collar, arm, or underhook), then post on your free hand behind you and drive your hips into your opponent’s chest. As they begin to tip, you follow through to mount or side control. It teaches explosive movement, posture disruption, and how to capitalize on timing.
